Transparency

In the early 1990s, we took a major step towards transparency by collecting all our historical records in one place and opening them to the public. The SNCF 1939-1945 Archives (1.35 million pages) were subsequently scanned and published online. In 2012, we appealed to rail workers to share their experiences of everyday life during the Second World War and the German Occupation. The many and varied oral contributions we received were added to our archives as first-hand witness accounts.
