SNCF during the second world war

This website provides a detailed account of the history of SNCF between 1939 and 1945. It also explains what we are doing to contribute to historical research, to pay tribute to deportees and Holocaust victims, and to acknowledge Resistance efforts by French rail workers. Our aim, in providing this information, is to keep this history alive and relevant for current and future generations.

Our extensive Second World War and Holocaust program, stretching back over a quarter of a century, focuses on four areas: transparency, history, acts of remembrance, and education.
