Since 1992, SNCF has contributed to the development and enhancement of sites of memory linked to the history of the Second World War. This commitment is part of an approach based on passing on history and preserving the traces and testimonies linked to this period.

Over the years, SNCF has established partnerships with a number of memorials, museums and remembrance sites in France and abroad. These partnerships support projects to restore, preserve and enhance these sites, as well as initiatives aimed at passing this history on to younger generations.

This support can contribute to the restoration and development of sites, the creation or renewal of exhibitions, the preservation of collections and archives, and the development of educational and awareness-raising initiatives.

Through these partnerships, SNCF supports organisations working to preserve and pass on the memory of the Second World War. These initiatives help to shed light on the experiences of victims, members of the Resistance and all those whose lives and histories were shaped by this period.
